Just one bite of the best oven baked flounder salad recipe and you’ll forget you’re eating salad. With crisp spring mix, mandarin oranges, apples and more, you’ll want to savor every last bite.
If you saw my simple oven baked flounder with lemon and herb recipe I posted last night, you’re going to love this recipe for the best oven baked flounder salad.
This salad combines some of my favorite vegetables and fruits for a tangy, unexpected, sweet taste. It’s fairly simple to make and with the right amount of flounder, you can easily feed a whole family with this recipe.
Last night was my first time making this flounder salad, but I can already tell it will be a favorite in my house – Michael was already asking if we had leftovers!
Preparing the Oven Baked Flounder Salad
This oven baked flounder salad uses a lot of traditional salad ingredients, so you won’t find yourself looking for insane ingredients at the grocery store. All you will need is one of those $5 spring mixes from the grocery store – you may even have some of this leftover because you probably won’t need to use it all for this salad – a pack of flounder, some cherry tomatoes, a few apples, some mandarin oranges, balsamic vinaigrette, and cheddar cheese.
When you’re ready to get started, you should start with putting your flounder together and baking it in the oven. This will be the most time consuming part of your salad recipe, so you’ll want to make sure you do it first and throw the salad together once the flounder is baking.
Getting the salad ready is pretty easy, just prepare it like any other salad you would make; slice the apples, peel the mandarin oranges, chunk the cheese, and half the tomatoes – if you want to. Then top it with your choice of dressing. I used balsamic vinaigrette for a tangier, lighter salad dressing, but you can use whatever your family loves.
