This simple oven baked flounder with lemon and herb is a family favorite! Simple and delicious, the flounder will fall into your mouth with a sweet and savory taste that will have the whole family coming back for seconds!

I remember the first time Michael and I tried making baked flounder at home. It was a complete disaster! It was before everyone had Pinterest, so we were probably newlyweds and we just could never get it to taste right.

That’s when we asked a friend how they made flounder and they told us they used lemon juice. That was our big ah-ha moment. After that, we tried lemon juice and added a few things to our simple oven baked flounder recipe and the end result is almost perfection.

This oven baked flounder recipe is good enough for a romantic dinner for two and if you purchase your flounder at Aldi it can be a cheap meal too! (I paid $5 for a decent size bag of flounder at my Aldi)!

Preparing the Flounder

Before you can put your flounder in the oven, you have to do a few small things to get it ready. While your oven is precooking at 350 degrees, lay your flounder pieces on a flat cookie sheet. Next, pour lemon juice over top of each piece of flounder and rub it over the top. Then sprinkle some parsley flakes and seasoning salt over each piece and you’re ready to pop into the oven for 30 minutes or until done.
