What gives this smoothie its health-boosting benefits?

This apple celery smoothie may taste good, but it is also super good for you. The ingredients in this smoothie have so many great health-boosting benefits, that you can not go wrong with drinking it a few times a week.

 



Vitamix Apple Celery Green Smoothie Recipe 7The main ingredient in this smoothie, celery, has been shown to provide so many health benefits. In the past, I only ever liked celery with peanut butter, but after reading about all the great health benefits of celery, I try to add it to everything. In case you didn’t know, celery has been shown to provide the following health benefits:

  • support digestive function 
  • support heart health
  • be anti-inflammatory
  • improve memory
  • improve blood sugar management

Granny Smith Apples are one of my favorite apples and they help to give this smoothie its sweet, tart flavor. Other than just flavor, these Granny Smith Apples also provide a ton of health benefits such as;

  • reducing the risk of heart attack & stroke by lowering LDL cholesterol
  • fighting cancer cells
  • providing fiber and vitamin C & vitamin A
  • high in potassium
  • eating one will help you fill full longer! 

Along with these two superfood ingredients, this smoothie also contains pineapple and avocados, which have a lot of other great health-boosting benefits on their own. For instance, pineapple is good for you because it provides the following health benefits:

  • nutrients like Vitamin C & B, fiber, manganese, and other essential minerals.
  • tissue healing
  • anti-inflammatory properties
  • bromelain which is thought to help aid digestion
  • relieves pain from arthritis
  • may even help with weight loss

And, finally, avocados offer powerful health benefits that research suggests may help protect against heart disease and lower blood pressure. This smoothie is great any time of the day, though I personally prefer it at breakfast time to keep me feeling great.

Choosing the best blender for smoothie making

I used to think all blenders were the same. I was so wrong! For years, we were using a traditional Ninja Blender not knowing there was a blender out there that would make smoothies creamy without ice chunks. And, then we found the Vitamix Blender at Costco one day.

And, while it was on sale, the price point alone had me doing a double take. Vitamix blenders can cost well above $300 which sounds absurd. But let me tell you, a Vitamix blender is probably unlike any blender you have ever used before. They are amazing! And, everything that goes in them comes out creamy and smooth and – so good! 

For this smoothie recipe, I personally recommend using a Vitamix blender specifically because it will make this smoothie creamy and leave no chunks behind. It literally blends the celery and other ingredients to perfection.

Vitamix blenders are a great way to make sure your family is getting their daily servings of fruits and vegetables.

Making this Apple Celery Smoothie in the Vitamix Blender

To make this Apple Celery Smoothie in the Vitamix Blender, it’s super easy and should take no longer than 10 minutes in total.

 



While I’ve read that the Vitamix will blend whole fruit, I still take the time to cut my apples and celery into chunk-sized pieces. Once you do this, just load the Vitamix as you normally do, blend, and enjoy!

Recipe for this Apple Celery Vitamix Smoothie

Yield: 3-4 servings

Vitamix Apple Celery Green Smoothie Recipe

This apple celery smoothie boasts many health benefits and is perfect for the whole family!

Cook Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 celery stalks
  • 3 granny smith apples
  • 1 1/2 cups oat milk (I use extra creamy oat milk from Planet Oats)
  • 3 bananas
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 cup pineapple
  • 1-2 cups of ice (optional)

Instructions

    1. In a blender (I prefer a Vitamix), add oat milk, celery, apples, bananas, avocado, and bananas.

    2. Blend on high for 5 minutes or until creamy

    3. Add 1 cup of ice for the desired chill. (optional)
    Serve and enjoy!
