Review of the NEW Mike Rowe “Something to Stand For” Movie
When I heard Mike Rowe had a new movie called “Something to Stand For” I knew I wanted to review it. As a young girl in high school, I often loved watching Mike Rowe’s “Dirty Jobs” show. Since Mike Rowe is a fellow Marylander, I used to love watching the episodes that were filmed nearby.
Mike Rowe has always had a way of storytelling and being blunt, and his new movie is exactly what I would expect from him. It’s truthful, to-the-point, and eye-opening. It’s based off an old radio series from Paul Harvey called, “The Rest of the Story.”
This movie is a bit different than the movies I normally watch. It includes a series of 6 true stories that are done in a style that you don’t know who the story is about until the end of the story.
“Something to Stand For” is a film that brings awareness to the history of this country and why we have something to stand for. While this film is probably not one that I would take younger children to watch, I loved the message in the movie.
