For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? -Matthew 16:26
There’s a story my husband tells in one of his sermons. It’s about a family who was executed for believing in Jesus Christ. They lost their life on earth, but they saved their soul. As the family sang the words; “I have decided to follow Jesus,” they made such an impact to the small town and eventually the town turned to Jesus.
The new movie, The Firing Squad, is based on a true-story that is quite similar to that story. The whole story actually takes place just a few years ago in 2015. It’s the incredible story of men who faced death but chose life.

Review of The Firing Squad Movie
The Firing Squad movie shares the story of the Christians executed in Indonesia. Up until watching this movie, I had never even heard of this story but now that I have, it’s a story that will stay tucked in my memory forever.
When I first previewed The Firing Squad, I had only prepared to watch a little bit of the movie and watch the rest later, but after just a few minutes into the movie, I was so engrossed that I ended up binging the whole movie. It was such an eye-opening movie. It brought tears to my eyes. The story just proves that if you find God, all things are possible.
In the movie, Peter Lone’s whole life changes. He goes from being a millionaire who mocks Christians to a God-loving Christian who finds undeniable peace in the toughest situation.
The movie had so many shocking scenes and the ending left my whole family sitting in silence. While we obviously hoped for a happier ending, watching the prison change because these prisoners was a powerful testimony to God.
The Firing Squad is a movie you need to plan on watching when it comes to theaters on August 2nd.
The Firing Squad does have a few scenes that may not be appropriate for the entire family. Although the movie is PG-13, there is violence, drugs, and death in this movie.
