Reviewing the Schuyler Personal Size Canterbury KJV Premium Bible from Evangelical Bibles

by Crystal Carder

When Michael first told me that he wanted a Schuyler Bible, my first thought was, we don’t need another Bible. We have so many Bibles already that I really couldn’t justify adding another one to our collection. But then Michael told me that he wasn’t just looking for a Bible like he already has, he wanted a personal sized Bible. And, it only made sense. Michael already has so many full-sized Bibles and a personal-sized Bible could make his life easier while preaching, so I set out on a quest, to find the perfect personal sized Bible from Schuyler Bibles.

And, what did I find? The Schuyler Personal Size Canterbury KJV Bible from EvanglicalBible.com. This Bible is truly amazing!

And, it’s one of Schuyler Bible’s newer releases, so I know you all probably have a lot of questions about it. So, I want to make sure to detail everything about this Bible in this post and share why you need this Bible in your life.

My Honest Review of the Personal Size Canterbury Black Goatskin KJV Bible

I’ve owned my share of Bibles so whenever I received the Personal Size Canterbury Bible from Schuyler Bibles, I wasn’t sure what to expect. This Bible completely blew any expectations I had for it out the door -it is that nice! Everything from the packaging to the actual Bible feels like it was done with exquisite care and workmanship.

This is probably the nicest Bible I’ve ever reviewed and I’ve reviewed a lot of Bibles in my lifetime. So, with that being said, this Bible does come at a hefty price tag of around $200. And, while that may sound like a lot of money, this Bible is meant to be a lifetime Bible and has been designed with the utmost craftsmanship

Besides the amazing quality, I also love the full yapps this one has. If you’re not familiar with yapps, yapps are fore edges that extend beyond the front and back of the book to fold over the textbook. (See photo below to fully understand). At first, I didn’t really understand the reasoning for the full yapps, but after using this Bible for a few weeks, I can’t believe more Bibles don’t have them.

notice how the binding is so much wider & longer than the actual Bible? This is the full yapps.

Full yapps actually help to protect the pages from damage and gives them an extra layer of protection. And, while I have heard people say they wouldn’t want a full yapp because it may hinder them from turning the pages, the goatskin yapp in this Bible is so soft that it doesn’t get in the way of turning pages at all.

One thing I wasn’t sure of when getting the Schuyler Personal Size Canterbury Bible was the font size. You know how other personal sized Bibles are small and hard to read. The Schuyler Personal Size Bible has an 8.5 font that actually seems a lot larger than what it is. The font is bolder than most and printed on 28 GSM paper that makes the 8.5 font easier to read than some of the 9pt font Bibles that we have.

The Schuyler Personal Size Canterbury has so many other features that I love, it would be the perfect Bible if it just had a concordance. While I understand this isn’t a deal-breaker, a concordance can be helpful with personal study.

Other than that small little detail I love the Schuyler Personal Size Canterbury Bible and cannot recommend it enough! Michael has even been using it during his evangelistic seminars and he raves about how much better it is to use. He loves how lightweight it is and how it is available in the King James Version.
