Hey guys, these last few weeks have been surreal! And, if you follow my Instagram, you may have noticed we just did ANOTHER cross-country road trip – Maryland to Cali!
And, if you’re wondering why we went twice in one year, especially after our last trip out west ended with a big bang, I’m finally sharing some exciting news with you all and sharing why we’re spending the next 3 months in Cali.
While I normally wouldn’t wait so long to share this exciting news with you all, I have to admit, this trip was a little hard to comprehend and I seriously had my reservations about being soooooo far away from home that I couldn’t even talk about the trip until after we made it. But now that we are here and we are settled, I want to share everything about why we are in California and what we’re doing, I even want to share about some of the amazing national parks we visited while we were heading out, later.
So, Why Are We Spending 3 Months In Cali?
I’ve talked about it a lot in the past, ever since Michael and I were baptized 5 years ago, we’ve felt this burning desire to share God with others. And, throughout the last 5 years, God has been using Michael to share His word with others, and a few months ago, he was even hired by our local conference to become an assistant pastor – and we didn’t even apply for a job!

But anyway, ever since we were baptized, Michael has had this desire to come out to California and go through this program called, AFCOE. It’s 3-months of intense training and they only select about 40 applicants into the program. Well, we had applied and were accepted last year, but due to COVID it got shut down.
So, when we found out it would be taking place this year from August-November, Michael has been on me about wanting to go. But there was one roadblock – the program cost a lot of money and driving across country isn’t exactly cheap. So, Michael and I prayed and literally a week before we needed a pretty hefty deposit, I told Michael to do whatever he wanted to do to try to raise the funds.
I seriously didn’t think we would get the money, but I still prayed that God would lead us to doing His will. And, you guys wouldn’t believe it but literally, 3 days before we needed the deposit, God gave us all of the deposit money! And, that’s when I knew – ready or not – we were going to California, but I still had so many worries about being so far from home and getting the rest of the money. But, I knew that if God gave us the deposit money, He wasn’t going to let us down with the rest, and He didn’t!
Because 2-weeks before we left for our trip, Michael did a 12-day prophecy seminar and our churches and families got together and donated the rest of the money we needed to us!
While I struggled leaving home, that first day, and even shedded a few tears, I know that we made the right decision by coming to California.
And, even if it is hard, I am testing my faith by trusting God.
Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. Truly, I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
