Why I Switched to Selling on Vinted (and Why I Love It)

If you’ve been thinking about selling clothes online, let me introduce you to Vinted. I finally decided to give selling on Vinted a try, and I have to admit… I get the hype.

After spending years selling on Poshmark, I wasn’t sure I wanted to learn yet another platform. But once I started using the Vinted app, I quickly realized why so many sellers are making the switch.

In this post, I’ll share what I love about selling on Vinted, why I’m slowly moving away from Poshmark, and whether I think Vinted is worth trying if you’re looking to clear out your closet and make some extra money from items you no longer use.

Why I Switched to Selling on Vinted (and Why I Love It) 3

What Is Vinted?

If you’re wondering, what is Vinted? It’s an online marketplace where people can buy and sell secondhand clothing, shoes, accessories, and even some home items. Instead of letting clothes sit in your closet collecting dust, you can list them on Vinted and earn extra money while giving them a new home.

One of the things I love most about Vinted is how simple it is to use. Creating a listing only takes a few minutes. There’s no frustrating AI trying to write your listings for you, and it actually feels like a selling platform that was designed with sellers in mind. You upload a few photos, write your description, set your price, and you’re done.

Whether you’re cleaning out your closet, trying to make a little extra money, or shopping for great deals, Vinted makes buying and selling secondhand easy. It’s also a great way to give clothes a second life instead of letting them sit in your closet or end up in a landfill.

I’ve spent years selling on other platforms, so I honestly didn’t expect to love Vinted as much as I do. But after using it, I can honestly say I don’t want to list anywhere else. Vinted has become my go-to selling platform, and throughout the rest of this post I’ll share exactly why I made the switch.

Why I Switched from Poshmark to Vinted

I wasn’t expecting much. In fact, I don’t think I was expecting anything at all. Then, within 24 hours, I made my first sale. Then another. And another.

That’s when I realized this platform was different.

Before long, I had made the decision to switch. Now, Vinted is my go-to platform for selling clothes, and I honestly wish I had started using it sooner. If you’re wondering whether selling on Vinted is worth it, let me share the reasons I fell in love with it.

What I Love About Selling on Vinted

After using Vinted for a while, there are a few things that have really stood out to me.

1. My Items Actually Sell

This has been the biggest difference. Instead of waiting weeks or months for a sale, I’ve been consistently selling items. There’s nothing more motivating than hearing that cha-ching notification and knowing another package is headed out the door.

2. Listing Items Is Fast

I can snap a few photos, write a quick description, set my price, and my listing is live. I don’t feel like I’m spending forever creating one listing, which means I can get through my inventory much faster.

3. It Feels Less Complicated

One of my favorite things about selling on Vinted is that it just feels simple. I don’t have to spend time sharing my closet or worrying about keeping up with changes to the algorithm. I can focus on listing items instead of figuring out how to beat the system.

4. It’s Helping Me Declutter

My goal has always been to clear out items we no longer use while making a little extra money at the same time. Vinted has helped me do exactly that, and it’s been exciting to watch my inventory finally start moving.

5. No Seller Fees

For me, this was the biggest reason to switch to Vinted, there are no seller fees.

If you’ve sold on other platforms like Poshmark, then you know those fees can really add up. Every time you make a sale, a portion of your earnings is taken out. On Vinted, I get to keep what I listed my item for because buyers pay a small protection fee instead.

That means more money stays in my pocket, and I don’t have to raise my prices just to make up for selling fees. It’s one of the biggest reasons I’ve fallen in love with selling on Vinted.

Is Selling on Vinted Worth It?

For me, the answer is absolutely yes.

I’m not saying Vinted is perfect, and every seller’s experience will be different. But after years of selling on Poshmark, making the switch to Vinted has completely changed how I feel about reselling. It made me rediscover the joy of online selling all over again.

If you’ve been frustrated with slow sales, changing algorithms, or you’re simply looking for another place to sell your clothes, I definitely think Vinted is worth trying.

  1. I resonate with everything that you have said. I am a 26-year veteran eBay seller. I joined Vinted a month ago. My Vinted sales profits are far better than my ebay profits. Ebays fees are ridiculous. I won’t list anything under $50 on that platform.

  2. I absolutely agree, the seller fees on other apps are too high to really make a go at selling stuff. I love how Vinted lets you keep all your money, and my sales have skyrocketed since switching too!
