The new year is often brought on by many New Year’s resolutions that are often given up on before the end of January. This year keep those resolutions by having faith in God and finding out what He really thinks of your resolutions.

Resolution #1 – Eating Less

Whether you are trying to eat less to feel better or eat less to lose weight, did you know the bible actually discourages being a glutton? Not only does the bible say gluttons will be put in poverty, but it also talks about your body being the temple of God. (1 Corinthians 6:19)

Proverbs 23:21 says; “For the Drunkard and Glutton will come to poverty, and slumber with clothe them with rags.”

Resolution #2 – Exercise More

If you are dreaming of running your first marathon this year or just being able to play with the kids more, remember you can do ALL things through Christ.

Resolution #3, Make more money

While many people dream of “making it big” and earning a lot of money, the bible actually talks about straying away from the love of money. And, in Matthew 19:20-21. the bible says to sell all of your possessions and give to the needy and you will have “treasures in heaven.”

Resolution #4 Stop Being Lazy

“The sluggard does not plow after the autumn, So he begs during the harvest and has nothing.” Proverbs 20:4. This verse is a great reminder that being lazy gets you nothing. Work, so that you can take care of yourself.

Resolution #5 Go to Church More

In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

Hebrews 5:12-14

Resolution #6 Drinking and Drugs

We all know drugs and alcohol are not good for your body, what better verse than 1 Corinthians 3:17 to make you want to stop.

While these are just some of the many verses on each of the topics, I hope these verses will help you make 2016 one of the best possible!
