What better way to enjoy a small getaway than by having fun at one of Pennsylvania’s oldest amusement parks? Waldameer Park and Water World in Erie, Pennsylvania has over 100 exciting attractions and is a great way to spend some time while visiting Erie.
Enjoy Time at Waldameer and Water World Amusement Park
Waldameer Amusement Park is easy to find during your visit to Erie. Located just before the entrance of the gorgeous Presque Isle State Park, Waldameer has a surreal view of Lake Erie, a Water Park, and tons of family fun attractions.
Visiting Waldameer Park and Water World
As with any trip, it just wouldn’t be a vacation without some sort of visit to an amusement park. That’s why during our short visit to Erie, we were so excited to find out we were going to Waldameer Park and Water World. Though we had already been to three Pennsylvanian amusements parks this summer, our visit to Waldameer left an everlasting impression.
Unlike many amusement parks, Waldameer Park isn’t about money instead it is about family and fun. When you arrive at the park, there are no parking fees and no admission charges. Instead guest at Waldameer can choose to pay only for the rides they want to ride. If you’re a bit of a thrillseeker, Waldameer Park even offers and affordable all-day combo pass that gets you onto the rides and into the Water World.
While we were there, we took advantage of the all-day combo pass, as it was the best way to experience all Waldameer Park and Water World had to offer.
While Waldameer doesn’t have any record-breaking roller coasters, the park does have some other intense rides including a new ride for 2019, Chaos. This ride was one of the first rides we seen as we walked into Waldameer Park and it was so insane that we spent a few minutes watching it.
Even though we have seen rides like Chaos before, none of the ones we’ve seen actually went upside down like Chaos did. Chaos is Waldameer’s first upside-down riding experience.
Besides insane thrill rides, Waldameer Park also has a lot of fun family rides and kid rides. While we were in the park, we enjoyed taking a ride on the Ferris wheel. The view from the top was stunning since you get views of the gorgeous Presque Isle State Park.
Waldameer Water Park
While we usually run towards the water parks at amusement parks, Waldameer Water Park was one we didn’t spend much time at. On the day we visited, it was hot and we had forgotten our swimming clothes back at the hotel. Instead of going back to the hotel to get them, we decided to enjoy Waldameer Park and ride as much as could.
Had we actually got to spend time inside Waldameer Water Park, there would have been so much to do there! Waldameer Water Park is home to the largest including largest wave pool in the tristate area. It has a ton of waterslides, a new’Battle of Lake Erie’ water complex, a lazy river, a heated pool and so much more.
We had so much fun at Waldameer Park and Water Park during our visit to Erie. If you’re looking for affordable family-fun, Waldameer is the place to go!
