I remember the day I was turning 18, I was so excited because I was finally going to be legal. Life was going to be amazing and it was, it still is. But, now as I age, I find myself caring less and less about my birthday, so this year my birthday just kind of crept up on me.

I warned my husband and kids that they could not buy me anything, they just had to do what I wanted. Ha, we all know how that works – it doesn’t. Anyways, I did pretty much everything that I wanted and a few things my kids wanted and am now officially a year older! I feel like I should have a post about my birthday, but I really don’t know where to start, so I’m sharing 27 life lessons I’ve learned in 27 years instead.
- Life doesn’t alway go as planned
- God will always be your best friend
- Having kids is the greatest blessing
- Parenting is hard and a lot of work
- Be thankful for what you have and stop worrying about what you don’t
- Material things are just materials
- A car is just a car, no matter what it looks like
- Always be nice to your parents
- Never take a loved one for granted
- Put down the phone
- Take care of your body
- Don’t become so worried about money that you forget to be happy
- You are in charge of your own happiness
- Life is short, enjoy it while you can
- Having money is not everything
- Take every opportunity you get to do amazing things
- Stop worrying about what other people think of you
- Stop stressing about things you can’t control
- Don’t take things for granted
- Read the bible, understand it and have a whole new meaning to life
- Don’t be so quick to believe things you don’t see
- Always pay your bills on time and keep an eye on your credit
- Take some time off, if you can, and explore the earth
- Best friends really do come and go, but families are forever
- Take the time to get that degree
- Work hard and pay your tithe
- Children really do grow up so fast…
I’ve learned so many lessons in 27 years, that I can’t believe how easy creating this post really was. What are some lessons you’ve learned?
