“The Barber Who Wanted to Pray” by R.C. Sproul is the incredible true story about a barber who wanted to learn how to pray. After meeting his hero, Martin Luther, in his barber shop, he asks him if he can teach him how to pray. Martin Luther agrees and writes him a simple letter that we now know as, A Simple Way to Pray.

My Review of “The Barber Who Wanted to Pray” Children’s Book
My kids are a bit too old for children’s books but every once in a while I still find a book that intrigues them. The Barber Who Wanted to Pray is one of those books. This book is geared towards older children, as the illustrations are darker and more historical-looking.
I really loved the paintings by T. Lively Fluharty as they portrayed the story well.

The pages of this book contain a lot of words and looks like it would be a long book to read. Fortunately, it wasn’t. This book took about 15 or so minutes to read but had a great message. My kids enjoyed the story and it was a great introduction to Martin Luther.
In the back of this book, it contains the Lord’s Prayer, Ten Commandments, and the Apostles’ Creed.
