I partnered with Swagtron in exchange for the K2 Balance Bike and Scooter, all opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links.
My 4-year old daughter has been begging us to buy her a scooter for quite some time now. Both of her brothers have scooters and she really wanted to be able to play with them. After doing some research, the selection for a perfect scooter was a bit overwhelming. Most of the scooters, I found, weren’t for her age group and if they were, they looked cheap. I wasn’t sure where I was going to find the perfect scooter for her, but than I found the Swagtron® K2.
The Swagtron® K2 is more than just a scooter, it’s a 2-in-1 outdoor toy that can be used as both a scooter and a balance bike. It’s the perfect combination for young children ages 2-5 and it’s available in colors my daughter loves.
We got this particular Swagtron® K2 2-in-1 Balance Bike and Scooter in yellow, and my daughter loves it! It works well on pavement, gravel, and concrete, but it also works in the grass and dirt.
Weighing only 4.62 pounds, the K2 is convenient for my daughter to maneuver around. It’s lightweight makes it even easier to transform it from a balance bike to a scooter. And, even though, she can’t transform it herself, it takes only seconds for me to do. I just simply pick up the Swagtron K2, press two buttons on the durable carbon steel frame and twist. When I’m done transforming the Swagtron K2 from a bike to a scooter, I can even adjust the adjustable stem, so it is the perfect height for my growing 4-year old.
Now whenever we go outside, my daughter only wants to play with her Swagtron K2 2-in-1 Balance Bike and Scooter. She prefers to use it as a scooter, since that’s normally what her brothers are playing with, but I think the ability to transform this into a balance bike is perfect for smaller children.
While my daughter still has a few pounds to reach the recommended up to 44 pound weight limit, this scooter may not be for your child if they are bigger than that. Although, I think this scooter could probably support a bit more than 44 pounds, I wouldn’t recommend using this one for them.
One other thing that sets the Swagtron K2 Child Walker apart from the rest, is the fact that it is sturdier than other scooters available on the market. The Swagtron K2 uses a tricycle, three wheel, design, so your child can feel safer and have less tipping “accidents” while using it.
Speaking of safety, did I mention the K2 is Astm F963 safe? That means this kid scooter meets the toy safety and construction standards. So, when you purchases the K2, you can relax and sit back knowing your child is on a safe toy.
There are so many things I love about the Swagtron K2 2-in-1 Balance Bike and Scooter, but mainly I just love how much my daughter loves it! Seeing her play on it gives her a big smile and I know when she’s older, she’ll be ready for the Swagtron K1 Scooter for older kids.
Check out this short video my daughter and I made about the Swagtron K2:
***Even though, I always recommend using proper safety gear with any outside items that have wheels, my daughter doesn’t have a helmet on in the pictures and video because we were watching her closely and she was in a safe environment. I most certainly recommend using protective gear on the K2, even though this scooter doesn’t tip too easily. Safety should always be first.
