Shopping for the holidays last minute can be stressful! You’re trying to cross everyone off your list and you’re stuck in some of the busiest stores of the year. While it is easier to finish your Christmas shopping earlier, rather than later, that’s not always practical.

As a mother, I know exactly what it is like to have to go search for this year’s hottest toy last minute. Or what it’s like to add 5 more people to your shopping list minute. It’s never fun. That’s why I’ve created this post on ways you can make your last minute holiday shopping successful.

Make Your Last Minute Shopping a Success

Shop Early Morning

Whenever you’re shopping for last-minute Christmas gifts, one of the best things you can do is go shopping early in the morning. Like the old saying, “the early bird gets the worm,” shopping early ensures you find what you are looking for! Since early mornings are usually the least busy times to shop, it makes sense to shop early morning and right at store openings. This will help to make your shopping less stressful and help you get out of the store sooner!

Know Shipping Cutoff Dates

If you are the type of person who likes to do Christmas shopping online, it is still possible last minute. Many businesses offer last-minute shipping up until a few days before Christmas.

It is important when ordering your gifts online, that you read over the company’s shipping deadlines for Christmas, so your gifts arrive on time. When shopping online, be sure to keep in mind that just because an item ships, doesn’t mean it will actually arrive on time. Due to shipping errors and busy mailmen, sometimes shipments don’t always make it on time.

Be Prepared to Wait in Long Lines

If you are shopping last minute for the holidays, be prepared to leave yourself a lot of extra time. Due to large crowds, busy parking lots, and long lines, you may be a lot longer shopping than you expect.

In case you are shopping with young children, you may want to bring along some extra snacks or a game to occupy them during the long waits.

Shop at Home With Amazon

If all else fails, shop at home with Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime is offering free 2-day shipping for Prime members up until December 23rd! This means you can literally beat the crowds and get the best prices at the comfort of your own couch!
