While on our way back home from California late last year, we found ourselves in Amarillo, Texas, home to the infamous Cadillac Ranch. If you’ve never been to this roadside attraction, it’s quite an odd one, but still worth the stop on your way through.

Featuring 10 Cadillacs buried nose-down into the ground, this unique road trip detour is unlike anywhere you may visit. Though located along the main highway, the attraction is only accessible via private land. But that’s okay, Cadillac Ranch is still currently a free attraction in Amarillo, TX.

Parking at Cadillac Ranch is also free, but it is road side parking, so close parking is on a first come, first serve basis.
Our Visit to Cadillac Ranch
Cadillac Ranch is one of those attractions that you have to see to believe- it’s definitely not your average road side attraction. When you get to Cadillac Ranch, it’s very busy. There are so many people there, that almost everyone of my photos were photobombed 😂.

One of the coolest things about visiting Cadillac Ranch is the fact that you can spray paint the cars and mark your own graffiti on them. While I read online that this is forbidden, when we arrived there, there were tons of people painting the cars and we even saw a bunch of paint cans laying around. So, whether you paint them or not, do it at your own risk.
Other than that, Cadillac Ranch doesn’t really offer much more to see or do. It’s literally just 10 Cadillacs. In a field. Buried nose-down. But if you’re in Amarillo and are looking for free things to see or do, visit the ranch it’s definitely something worth seeing.
While I couldn’t find an official website for the ranch, you can learn more about it by visiting HERE.
