Growing up, my mama had a nighttime routine with my two sisters and me. She would stand in the hallway and read from a very old, out-dated bible book.

That bible book wasn’t intended for young children, but it taught us the stories in the bible that I need to know. Now that I’m grown up, I somehow ended up with that bible book. It’s so outdated, even more now, and there are no pictures in it. I never realized the book was so old though until I went to read it to my own children.

My kids wanted nothing to do with that book. No matter how fun and interesting the stories were, they couldn’t hear them because their little eyes had nothing to look at. Thankfully, just because that book didn’t work didn’t mean I had to give up on my mama’s tradition.

There are literally so many bible storybooks on the market, that I’ve been searching for the one that actually lasts for what feels like forever.

Most of the books I find, are great for little kids but have too little information to really be informal. That’s why when I got the Once Upon A Time Bible from Zonderkidz, I was so excited for it to arrive.

As you can tell from the cover, this book looks like a magical fairy tale. I didn’t even have to read the title of the book, and I wanted to read it.

Once Upon A Time Storybook Bible Review
Once Upon a Time Storybook Bible is not a fairy tale, but every story in the bible happened – Once upon a time. Each story in this book is told in a captivating way that will make your child enlightened with the real tales of the real heroes in the bible. Illustrated by Omar Aranda, each page in this book is filled with captivating images.

Once Upon A Time Storybook Bible may look a little too nice to be good, but I promise you, this book is one of the best (if not the best) children’s bible books that I’ve found. Upon opening this book, you will find a page where you can present it to a special person, along with adding the date and who it is from.

This book features over 33 stories from the bible and is split up into 18 Old Testament and 15 New Testament stories. This book has a lot of the more popular  in like Jonah and the Whale, Noah’s Ark, and Adam and Eve, but it also has a few of the lesser-known stories in the bible, which is kind of like a little-added bonus. Almost every children’s storybook you find has those popular stories inside, but most of them don’t feature the story of, Zacchaeus The Tax Collector and Lazarus-like this one does.

Once Upon A Time Storybook Bible is available in a beautiful hardcover backing at your local Sam’s Club or wherever books are sold.
