Throughout the years, I’ve reviewed many Bibles, so it takes something truly unique to surprise me. But the NEW NKJV New Testament Tracing Edition completely caught my attention from the moment I opened it.
Honestly, I can’t believe no one thought of this sooner.
The NKJV New Testament Tracing Edition allows you to trace the words of Scripture as you read through the New Testament. Instead of simply reading the Bible, you’re actively writing God’s Word verse by verse, giving you the opportunity to truly learn the words of Scripture.

For years, studies have shown that handwriting improves learning and memory retention. This Bible combines that concept with daily Bible study, creating a unique devotional experience for individuals, families, homeschoolers, and anyone looking to spend more intentional time in God’s Word.
The entire New Testament text is lightly printed in grayscale, making it easy to trace while still remaining clear and readable. The beautiful single-column layout helps readers focus on the text as they slowly work through each passage.
One of my favorite features is the flexible design that allows the Bible to open comfortably while tracing. Since you’re writing directly over the text, being able to keep the pages open without constantly fighting the binding is a huge advantage.
Whether you’re looking to grow deeper in your faith, memorize Scripture, develop a consistent devotional habit, or spend meaningful time in God’s Word with your family, this Bible offers a creative and engaging way to do exactly that.
If I had one small criticism, it would be that the tracing text can feel a bit small at times, especially during longer tracing sessions. Because the Bible is designed to fit the entire New Testament in a manageable size, some readers may wish the font were slightly larger. Additionally, while the cover is beautiful and flexible, it does not include a traditional spine title, which can make it feel a bit more fragile than other Bibles. Even so, this Bible is backed with Thomas Nelson’s trusted Guarantee.
Even with those minor drawbacks, the NKJV New Testament Tracing Edition is one of the most unique Bible study tools I have seen in years and a wonderful way to slow down, focus on Scripture, and hide God’s Word in your heart.
Features of the NKJV New Testament Tracing Edition include:
• Entire New Testament printed in grayscale for easy tracing
• Large, easy-to-read 17-point font
• Wide margins for notes, journaling, and Bible art
• Lay-flat spine design for comfortable tracing
• Durable 60gsm paper ideal for writing
• Clean single-column typesetting
• Chapter headings for easy navigation
• Topical reading plans on love, hope, grace, comfort, peace, anxiety, faith, the Holy Spirit, heaven, spiritual gifts, and more
• Trusted NKJV translation: Beautiful. Trustworthy. Today.
This would make an excellent resource for personal Bible study, homeschooling, family devotion time, teens, journaling Bible lovers, and anyone wanting to slow down and truly meditate on Scripture. It’s a great Bible, and one that I cannot recommend enough. Its unique tracing format makes engaging with God’s Word both memorable and meaningful.
