One of the most important books a child could ever own is the Bible. Making sure they read that bible is vital to they way they grow up and the person they grow up to be.

When I was given the opportunity to review the NIrV The Beginner’s Bible Holy Bible, I was looking forward to letting my oldest son have it.

The Beginner's Bible Holy Bible NIrV Review

As you know by now, my son is now 6 and just learning to read. He has been a little stubborn looking at other bibles; he usually complains there are too many words. So, for the last few months, I’ve been looking for a bible that he would actually want to pick up; The Beginner’s Bible Holy Bible is just that.

This bible features beautifully drawn pictures at various locations throughout the Bible. Making it ‘fun-er ‘ for my son to look at. Instead of complaining there are too many words, this bible breaks it up and gives us a talking point.

Another thing that I absolutely love about this Bible is that it uses bigger wording. My son just got glasses, so I love that these words are easier for him to see than those in traditional Bibles.

My favorite part of this bible, though, is the fact that it’s hardcover. With younger kids in the house, I don’t have to worry about them ruining the Bible as much as they would a paperback book. The hardcover also ensures that maybe, one day, my son can hand it down to his children.

While this bible uses one of my more favorite versions, the New International Reader’s Version, I would absolutely love to see a children’s bible that used the clear word version. Since the Bible is a complicated book, it would be refreshing to give our children an advantage by making the Bible clearer.

The Beginner’s Bible Holy Bible is one that will last my son a few years before he grows out of it. I would recommend it as the Bible choice for children 4-12.
