Clutter is bad for your health

If you have ever found yourself annoyed at all the stuff in your room, you’re not alone. Recent studies from WebMD actually suggest that too much stuff can cause both physical and mental problems. Too much stuff can cause you not to get things done, drain energy and even cause allergies, or mold – leading to more serious health problems like asthma.

Another health hazard can even take your life. Since clutter makes it so hard to move, it can become a fire hazard, trapping you inside.

It makes your house look messy

It doesn’t matter if you clean your house all day and night, whenever your house is filled with clutter, your housel always look messy. No one wants to look at piles of clothes everywhere, or toys piled up. A cluttered house just looks bad. Getting rid of clutter can not only help your house look cleaner, but it can also help keep you from having to clean so much.

You’re holding an attachment to an earthly treasure

Many of the reasons for people’s clutter simply comes down to the fact that they are holding some sort of an attachment to an earthy treasure. Not only is this bad for the psyche, but it is also a sin. The Bible says:

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 6:19-21

If you are holding onto an item just because it cost too much or you may use it in the future, consider letting those items go. Not only will your house think you, but your health will too!
