Holidays can be expensive. As a family of five, I know first-hand what it’s like not to have extra cash for the holiday season. Unfortunately, it seems like during the holiday season everybody wants extra money and there’s always a ton of gifts that need to be bought. It’s almost like, having money isn’t an option during the holiday months. That’s why I’ve created this simple little guide to help you make extra cash this holiday season.
These simple ways to make extra cash for the holiday season will take a little bit of time and effort, but the end result will be exactly what you need, a few extra bucks in your pocket.
Before I started blogging, I did a lot of surveys. Surveys are very time consuming but can bring in anywhere from a few bucks to hundreds of dollars. A few of my most recommended survey sites include:
Probably one of the easiest ways to make extra cash for the holiday season is using the cash back option. Whenever you shop, use sites like:
- Ebates get cash back at all your favorite stores!*
Whenever you use these apps before and while you shop, you can potentially earn a few extra dollars, easily.
Shopkick has been a favorite app of mine for a long time. It’s so easy to use that it’s silly not to use. Shopkick gives you points just for walking into stores like Best Buy and Target and for scanning items. Shopkick even gives you points for buying stuff at select retailers.
In exchange for your Shopkick points, you can redeem for gift cards and cool swag. Download Shopkick HERE and use code KIND832665 when signing up!
Sell Your Old Stuff
One of the easiest ways to make a few extra bucks before the holidays is by selling your old stuff. Some of the things that you can always sell include:
- Toys your kids no longer play with
- Clothes that don’t fit or get worn
- Old tools
- A car that doesn’t get used
- Kitchen appliances
Sell Your Hobbies
If you have a hobby that you are really good at, consider cashing it in. If you can crochet, sew, or are good at another type of craft, make things and try to sell it.
If your hobby includes something like playing sports, instruments, or smarts, offer to give lessons for a fee.*
Offer Your Services
The holidays are the time when many people need work done in their house or snow removal. If you have the equipment and know how-to, offer to provide your services at a small price.*
These are some services you can offer, but the list is endless:
- Snow removal
- Hauling (if you have a truck)
- Pet Sitting
- Freelance Writing
- Virtual Assistant
* Be sure to check state and local laws for any licenses you may need and any additional things you may be required to have like, insurance.
*Offer subject to change.
