If you have ever helped taken care of someone who suffered from accidental leakage (AL), you may know how it can keep them up at night. Sometimes it feels like all they do is wake up through the night.

Between the constant change of clothing and bedding, you may even be wondering how to help someone who suffers from AL get a better night’s rest? If so, you have found yourself in the right place. These three simple tips will help you help someone who suffers from AL and help make sure they get a good night’s rest.

How to Help Someone Who Suffers From AL Get a Better’s Night Rest

Cut out the liquids

One thing you have to be sure to do whenever you suffer from urinary incontinence is to make sure you are completely emptying the bladder before you go to bed. You can do this by making sure you use the bathroom before falling asleep and not drinking any liquids at least 2 hours before bed. The less liquid you consume before bed, the less likely your body will have anything to empty, leaving you free from urinary incontinence, longer.

Choose TENA®

Whenever it comes to unexpected leaks, TENA® knows that one unexpected leak is one too many. TENA® empowers consumers to keep living their lives to the fullest. Using TENA® during the nighttime can help keep you dry from unexpected leaks and give you a better night’s rest.

TENA® intimates™ Overnight Pads are my personal pick for my loved ones who suffer from accidental leakage at nighttime.

With TENA® Intimates™ Overnight Pads, my loved ones get the same great absorbency with Triple Protection, (now with Proskin Technology™), that TENA® has always offered, so I can be sure my loved ones get worry-free nighttime protection.

One thing I’ve always loved about TENA® is that TENA® lets my loved ones be themselves, without compromise. And, the new TENA® Intimates™ Overnight Pads includes a soft top layer, that quickly wicks fluid away from the skin, so my loved ones  feel fresh and clean, all night.

I purchased TENA® Intimates™ Overnight Pads at my local Walmart near the medicine aisle and where other urinary incontinence products are. You can shop for them in-store, or by clicking on the first picture in this post.

Avoid Certain Foods

If you’ve ever eaten a watermelon, you probably understand how certain foods can make you have to go to the bathroom more. Avoiding certain foods like; caffeine, alcohol, and fruits can help keep your loved one from having accidental leakage at nighttime. If you do decide to eat any of these foods, always try to have them a few hours before bedtime, so they will be out of your system by nighttime.

If you have a loved one who suffers from AL or know someone who takes care of someone who suffers from AL,  please share this post with them so they can get a better night’s rest.

It makes common sense to stop drinking liquids including alcohol before bedtime. But I hadn’t thought about fruits which contain a lot of water.

It never occurred to me that someone with AL would need to limit their diet so much, but it does make sense. I’m happy to see more options like this on the market since the issue is really more common than people realize.

These look like they would be great to help make sure that they get some great sleep without worry. There is nothing more awful than not getting the sleep that you need to take on the day.
