Reeses Meet and Greet at Hershey Park

The ‘Sweetest Place on Earth’ Hershey, Pennsylvania

Here on the east coast, Hershey Park is just as big of a deal to us as Disney World is to the rest of the world. We northerners love Hershey Park and chances are, if you’ve ever enjoyed a Hershey’s Chocolate bar, you would love the park too!

Located in the sweetest place on earth, Hershey, Pennsylvania – just outside of Harrisburg – the park sits on over 100-acres and has more than 70attractions.

In its own little town that milk chocolate founder, Milton Hershey, built himself, Hershey, Pennsylvania is home to the world-famous Hershey chocolate factory, Milton Hershey School (a tuition-free private school for low-income families), and Hotel Hershey.

Hershey, Pennsylvania has over 3 million visitors a year!

Visiting Hershey Park Amusement Park

Whenever you visit Hershey Park Amusement Park, it’s always better to get there a little before the park opens. Hershey Park sees so many visitors, that parking can get a little far away, if you’re not early.

While the park doesn’t open to the public until 10:30, visitors can take the time to learn more about chocolate and Milton Hershey inside the Hershey Chocolate World which opens at 9 am.

Inside the Hershey Chocolate World, guest can get fun meet and greets with fun candy characters, buy candy souvenirs, add fun experiences to their visit, and ride a free Hershey Chocolate Ride that teaches you all about the chocolate making experience.

Once outside the Hershey Chocolate World, you will be on your way to a day of sweetness at Hershey Park Amusement Park.

Before entering Hershey Park, guest can measure themselves on fun character-themed height identifiers. From there, even the smallest guest can find out if they are a Hershey’s Bar, Twizzlers, Jolly Rancher, Reeses, Hershey’s Kiss, or a Hershey Miniatures. This fun height identifier will help you navigate which rides your child will be tall enough to ride all day.Sweeter Than Magic: Family Fun at Hershey Park in Hershey, PA 9

Inside Hershey Park Amusement Park

Once inside the Hershey Park Amusement Park, the fun can officially begin. Hershey Park has so many rides for the whole family to enjoy, that you’ll have no time to waste before getting started!

During our time at Hershey Park, the whole family had so much fun! While we didn’t stay at the park until closing, we literally stayed until we were exhausted and couldn’t do anymore.

While the park looked busy as we were walking in, the lines on most of the rides weren’t too bad. In fact, we didn’t have to wait over 20-minutes for any of the rides (which when you’re traveling with kids is pretty awesome).

As a parent of young children, I tend to stress out about long wait times, but thankfully, most of Hershey’s rides are continuously moving, so even if there is a line, there’s never much of a wait time.Sweeter Than Magic: Family Fun at Hershey Park in Hershey, PA 11 Inside the park, my family got to experience all of the rides we hoped to including one of our favorites, the Twin Turnpike – Classic Cars. This ride was so much fun for the whole family, but the kids really loved it.

This ride allowed you to drive a classic car across the turnpike. Everything in this ride was realistic and it gave a chance for kids to hop behind the wheel and feel like they were actually driving – which they kind of were.

Meanwhile, other rides like the Skyrush – a roller coaster climbs 200 feet into the air before flying downhill at 75 mp – were too intimidating for everyone in my family except my husband!

Hershey Park’s roller coasters are literally some of the best that we’ve personally ever been on. Every one of the park’s 14 roller coasters is completely different than the other and you never know what to expect. Between loops and curves, Hershey’s bound to have a favorite coaster for every type of thrill seeker.

Other than just amazing rides, Hershey Park also has it’s very own ZooAmerica inside the park. At ZooAmerica, you can see over 200 animals that are native to North America and learn about each animal.

While the zoo only spans 11-acres, the zoo is the perfect spot to spend an hour at. The only thing that I will recommend is doing the zoo early because it is a walk-through zoo and you may not feel like walking at the end of the day.

While we visited Hershey Park Amusement Park, we also cooled down at the Chevrolet Music Box Theater during the NEW! Big Top Dreams show. The park put on such a marvelous show and it was the perfect way to cool off from the hot summer sun that day. While we were there, we were able to enjoy a small snack and got rested up –  just enough – for more rides.

Our day spent at Hershey Park was so enjoyable that Michael and I are already talking about doing season passes for the whole family next year. If you’ve never been there, you have to plan a visit. The park is open all summer, plus it has many fun holiday events throughout the year.
