I’ll admit I’m not the perfect parent. Sometimes, I let my kids play tablets for way too long and sometimes, I’m absolutely okay spending the day inside, even when its beautiful outside. I have my flaws, but there is one thing I don’t want to slack on when it comes to parenting, and that is bringing my children closer to God. The thought of them not knowing Him because I was too lazy, just kills me.

That’s why every night, I make sure I read them a bible story and pray with them. Although, I know it’s not the only thing I need to do for them to know God, I know my kids have come to love learning about Him. That’s why whenever I got the cute, new board book from Tommy Nelson, I knew I had to share it with them.

The book, God Bless Our Bedtime Prayers, by Hannah C. Hall brings together adorable animal families as they learn to pray about every moment of the day.

God Bless Our Bedtime Prayers has nine short bedtime prayers about everything kids may be dealing with; sharing, sickness, and even missing toys. While each page, may only take seconds to read, this is a great bedtime book to introduce children to God and bedtime prayers.

With illustrations by Steve Whitlow, each page flows beautifully with each short story. In fact, the illustrations in this book, are one of the main things my kids loved about it. It was also the first thing they noticed about it and the reason why they begged me to read it to them.

Unlike other bedtime stories for children, this book features a short Bible verse to go along with every story. the Bible verses are short enough that I even used them as memory verses for my children through the week.

God Bless Our Bedtime Prayers is a board book, so it is intended for younger children, but young children up to age 6, still love it.
