I partnered with Flybar in exchange for a pogo stick. All opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links. Please refer to my disclosure policy.

My 8-year old is a ball of energy. He can literally run circles around his siblings. He has so much energy, that often I run out of ideas for things he can do when no one else feels like running or racing. That’s why this year for his birthday, I thought a pogo stick sounded like the perfect idea for him. He could wear off some energy, have fun, and do something really cool – it would be a win, win for both of us.

The first Google search for pogo sticks I did lead me to Flybar and their vast selection of pogo sticks.

If you’ve never heard of Flybar, they are the original pogo stick company and have been around since 1918 – 100 years! To date, Flybar is more than just a pogo stick company; having grown into an all around sporting-goods company. Flybar now sells everything from pogo sticks to trampolines.

Flybar Foam Maverick Pogo Stick

The Flybar Foam Maverick Pogo Stick is great for introducing children between 5 and 9 to the pogo stick. This stick comes in seven different color options and is made for children who are 40-80 pounds.

When I first received the Flybar Foam Maverick Pogo Stick, I was skeptical of how durable this pogo stick would be. Since it is called a foam pogo stick, I thought the stick would be a little on the less durable side, but I was wrong. In reality, this pogo stick is still made with metal and is very heavy duty. The Foam Maverick Pogo Stick actually uses foam as a way to protect your child from the bar and offer a cool look for your child.

Since receiving the Foam Maverick Pogo Stick, my son has used it so much! At first, he was a little worried about falling and could only do three jumps in a row, but now he is well over that number.

Ever since he started using it, he has actually been able to wear all his extra energy out. In fact, I never realized how much of a workout you can get by just jumping – just 15 minutes on the pogo stick can burn150 calories!

The one thing that makes the Flybar Foam Maverick Pogo Stick perfect for young children is the fact that it uses sturdy, non-slip foot pegs. Although, this won’t completely stop your child from falling down while using it, it does help a lot. In fact, I don’t think my son ever had an issue staying on the foot pegs, his biggest issue, at first, was keeping his balance.

The Foam Maverick Pogo Stick from Flybar comes ready to jump and requires no directions to use. We love how much fun it is and I highly recommend it as a classical fun way for kids to get exercise and spend more time outdoors.

This is perfect timing! I was just trying to explain to my boys what a pogo stick was. 🙂 I’ll have to show them this. They’re not quite old enough for it yet, but I want to get one for them!

I always wanted one of these when I was a kid. It’s great to see that they still have classic toys but more modern and looks pretty sturdy! I may have to pick up one of these for my kids! Thanks for posting about this. 🙂

I love to see toys and activities that children can play with outside. Children should be active outdoors and not inside looking at a screen is healthy.

I agree! That’s one thing I hate when the weathers cold or rainy, my kids seem to think they need screen time. I love keeping them active.

I used to be quite good on a pogo stick when I was a child and this one sounds great for younger children! Awesome to see they are still around.

My older granddaughter has a pogo stick and loves it so much. My younger granddaughter wants one but we’ve been wary about getting her one, she’s pretty clumsy. I think this one would be a safer option for her.

Oh my gosh, that looks like so much fun! I may buy one for the kids but secretly use it myself. I had a pogo stick as a kid and loved it.

your eight-year old seems so happy with his latest toy. I, too, would want to try it for my boys especially that summer is here and there is no school. I am thrilled with the mention of trampolines. I find it as a lovely way to bond with kids, too.

I can hardly believe that a pogo stick company has been around that long. I don’t remember my first stick. Was lots of fun though. Maybe my daughter would enjoy it.

What a cute toy to keep the kids entertained. Our boys wanted one when they were younger, but my husband voted against it.

I remember when I was in school and we used pogo sticks. I too was a little worried of falling and didn’t do many jumps at a time

My kids were nervous about falling at first on this one, but it’s designed really well to keep them from slipping off. That’s cool to hear they used to have these in your school.
