When it comes to Bible resources for kids, children have a lot of questions about Scripture. What does that word mean? Why did that happen? How does it all fit together? That curiosity is actually a good thing, it just needs the right tools to help guide it.
That’s where The Explorer Bible Dictionary for Kids comes in. This resource helps kids dig into Scripture by explaining key Bible words, places, and concepts in a way they can actually understand. Instead of feeling overwhelming, Bible study starts to feel more like an exciting journey.

It pairs really well with tools that encourage kids to stay consistent in God’s Word and build confidence as they learn. Whether it’s used alongside a children’s Bible or during family Bible time, it helps make Scripture more approachable and engaging.
One thing I love about this book is how it encourages questions and conversations. It gives kids and adults a way to start conversation which almost always leads them back to the Bible.

My Honest Thoughts on This Bible Resource for Kids
The Explorer Bible Dictionary for Kids is a really helpful Bible resource for kids. From the moment it arrived on my doorstep, I couldn’t wait to open it up and see what was inside. The hardcover design, full-color pages, and engaging visuals immediately make it feel inviting, it’s the kind of book kids are naturally drawn to.
Inside, the pages are organized in a simple A–Z format, just like a traditional dictionary, which makes it easy to look up words and topics. The layout is also very kid-friendly, with short sections and visuals that help bring meaning to life without feeling overwhelming.
Overall, it’s a great tool for helping kids engage with Scripture and build curiosity about Bible words and concepts. While I do think it’s helpful overall, I would personally encourage parents to use discernment with some definitions, as a few felt a bit vague or could be interpreted in different ways. For that reason, I think it works best when used alongside the Bible as part of a more well-rounded study approach.
