Before our visit to the Great American Outdoor show, I took my children to one of the sweetest places on earth – Hershey Chocolate World in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Not only did the kids and I have a blast there, but we got to meet some of our favorite candy characters! If you’ve never been to the Hershey Chocolate World, you have to plan a visit next time you’re in Hershey, Pennsylvania or in the nearby, Harrisburg.
You’ll not only literally be in for a treat, but you will also be at the sweetest place on earth – I mean, after all, who doesn’t LOVE delicious Hershey candy?!
Hershey Chocolate World is a chocolate lover’s dream come true! Featuring a Hershey’s candy selection that is almost too hard to resist, Hershey-inspired merchandise, and a one-of-a-kind first-hand look at the Hershey’s candy-making process, this place is too hard to pass up.
Hershey’s Chocolate World can be fun for all ages; young and old. While you are there, shop for merchandise at the Hershey Store, pose for some photos, or add on some extras – like going for a ride on the Hershey’s Chocolate Tour.
Hershey’s Chocolate World Tour is a free, no ticket required, 30-minute tour that takes riders on a first-hand look of how Hershey’s Chocolate is made. While lines can be considerably longer during summer months, the tour runs continuously, so wait time is generally not too long.
The Hershey Chocolate World Tour is so much fun, that you should probably leave time for riding it more than once.
While on your chocolate tour, riders of all ages will ride in a slow-moving car and see each step of the chocolate making process. At the end of the tour, riders are given a chance to purchase pictures and get a sweet chocolate sample (usually a Hershey’s Bar).
Hershey’s Chocolate World offers more than just a Chocolate World Tour, but if you are on a tight budget, the tour is the only part of the world that is free.
Some other cool things to do while visiting, if you have a bit of extra money are; watch a 4-D Chocolate Mystery, go on a Chocolate Tasting Experience, Trolley Works tours, and creating your own candy bar. While I’ve never personally done any of these other things, I have heard a lot of amazing things about them.
Depending on your time of visit, Hershey’s Chocolate World also offers fun seasonal events. While we were there, we got to see a life-sized Milton Hershey made completely of Hershey’s Chocolate and watch a fun character parade. This event runs the whole month of February 2018.
During the parade, my kids literally had the best time! Candy characters like; Twizzlers, Ice Breakers, and Kit Kat all came out and danced. My seven-year-old is usually bashful during these type of things, but Kit Kat came over and he danced and laughed like I never saw him do before. After we left, he talked about the experience for hours.
If you are planning a trip to Hershey Chocolate World, you don’t have to wait until Hershey Park is open in the summer because this place is open year round. For more information and news on special events, visit Hershey Chocolate World’s website HERE.
