Best Way to Get Over a Cold – Sharing My Best Cold Fighting Advice

It’s cold season, which means one thing – being miserable! If you’ve ever had to deal with a cold out in public, you know the symptoms of a cold can be extremely embarrassing. First there’s the watery eyes, then there’s a runny nose, and then, of course, there’s the worst thing of all – the coughing spells.

When you have a cold, there’s only one thing you want to do, find the best way to get over a cold and do it fast. Luckily, I have your back! These simple tricks are things I personally do to get over a nasty cold faster and feel better sooner.

Drink Tea

A hot cup of tea has many health benefits, but one of the biggest benefits is that hot tea can help cure the symptoms of a cold. Hot liquids, like tea, can loosen congestion and help soothe throat pain.

To get your most out of a hot cup of tea whenever you are sick, I suggest adding these extras that are proven to help with cold symptoms even more.

  • Ginger
  • Lemon
  • Honey

Rest

Although it is not always practical to rest whenever you have a cold, one of the best ways to get over a cold involves getting extra rest. Whenever you can rest, your body can build its immune system back up and you can begin to feel better, sooner.

Use OTC Cold Medicines

Before you lay down to rest, try using some OTC cold medicines to help you get rid of your cold faster. OTC medications can really help limit the symptoms of that nasty cold and help you feel better longer.

If you have time to rest, or can sleep uninterrupted, I suggest using (check with your dr. before using) or another medication that is for nighttime. Using a medication that aids with sleeping during a cold can be very beneficial in getting that rest you desperately need to fight off a cold.

Use a Vaporizer

Whenever you have a nasty cold, a vaporizer like this one from can help temporarily ease the symptoms of cold and congestion.

When you use a warm vaporizer in conjunction with these other 3 tricks, your body should begin to feel better and you should be able to get through the day easier.
