6 Things That Should Be On Your New Years Resolution List

The countdown is officially on, New Years will be here in just 2 days!!! And, while you are busy planning your New Years Resolutions, here are some things that you should consider adding to your list:

Decluttering and getting rid of unnecessary things. After receiving an over abundance of Christmas gifts, I can’t wait to stop being so focused on stuff. Every where I look I have too much stuff; I have too many shoes that never get wore, toys that don’t get played with and too much everything else. This year, I am finally going to stop hoarding and declutter my life of all that excess junk. Not sure you can do it, consider this, decluttering has been proven to improve your mood and increase happiness levels.

Eating Healthier: I’m so sick of eating the same processed junk. When I’m out on the road, I choose fast food over healthier options, this year that’s going to change. With so many options out there, I can’t wait to cut out processed food from my diet. This year, I may even consider using a meal replacement shake like this one from GNC.

Getting rid of excess spending and putting more money into savings.  I’m terrible with money. If I know we have a few dollars, I spend it. This year, those excess purchases are going to stop and my extra money is going into a savings account. No more $3 drinks from Dunkin’ Donuts, even if it’s on sale; this year, I’ll bring my own coffee with me by keeping it in one of these tumblers.

Create a Budget. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I just swipe my card and pray the card machine doesn’t deny it. I don’t budget. I just spend and spend until I feel like we’ve spent too much and then we’re broke. This year, I’m going to create a good budget and stick to it. I think I may even try the Dave Ramsey Total Money Makeover. 

Learn something new. I can’t begin to tell you the amount of times I’ve said, I wish I could do that. This year, there will be no more wishing because I’m finally going to learn that. With so many free apps and websites, there’s no excuse not to, learn a new language or computer coding. With this, the possibilities of what you can learn are endless. Just don’t plan on teaching yourself to be a doctor, something’s you still need school for.

Read the Bible everyday. The Bible has so much to offer, so why not dedicate some time to it every day. Whether you read His word first thing in the morning, or late at night, the Bible is bound to give me a whole new meaning to life. This Bible is perfect for those who find the other versions hard to read.
