4 Reasons You’re Struggling With Motherhood + The Easy Way to Fix It

It’s funny how new moms are expected to go through a traumatic birth experience and then care of a tiny human just a little while after – with no help! It’s something so beautiful, yet terrifying, but we moms have been doing it for decades! And, we’re strong because of it!

But, that doesn’t mean as moms we don’t struggle. Motherhood IS hard! It is exhausting and it’s one of the hardest things we will ever do! And, trust me you will NEVER get the credit you deserve. So, if you’re struggling with motherhood, I’m here to tell ya, it’s normal. It’s okay BUT there is a way to help with the struggle of motherhood and I’m sharing 5 of the best things you can do to help with the struggle. #thestruggleisrealyall

Stop Putting Too Much On Your Plate

Okay, soccer mom, PTA mom, career mom, and perfect wife, it’s time to STOP 🛑 putting so much on your plate. It’s time to learn the word NO and start using it.

You don’t have to say yes to everything. It’s perfectly okay to say no and you know what, no one is ever going to think less of you for it. Having too much on your mom’s plate is never a good thing. Moms can get burnt out too and once that happens, watch out because everyone is getting cranky mom and that’s never a good thing.

As moms, we need to know our boundaries and we need to be okay saying no. No one can do it all and that’s okay. So, stop trying to be a superwoman and realize you’re already her. Your body made a human life and that alone makes you awesome in my book! 😉

It’s Okay to Pamper Yourself Too

As mothers, we often forget to make time for ourselves. We spend our days changing diapers, cleaning kitchens, and cooking, and, yet we never make time for ourselves. That’s pretty sad if you ask me.

We mothers are people too and we deserve to be pampered, so make sure you give yourself at least 30 minutes every day to focus on yourself. Even if it’s when the kids go to bed or right before they wake up. Either way, your body needs that time alone to refresh and feel better. Alone time is a great stress reliever too, and can help you get through your day a whole lot better.

You Forgot You’re Human Too

When you became a mom, you stopped remembering you were human too. And, who can blame you? You’re busy taking care of another human being. You’re a mother and it’s who you are now. But, you’re also human too. And that means you matter too and you are more than just a mom. You ARE a human being. A person with hopes and dreams and you shouldn’t give those up because you are a mom.

Moms can have dreams. They can go back to school, start a business, or do anything they want to do. As moms, we need to remember to treat ourselves like humans and to treat ourselves the way we will teach our children to teach themselves.

We matter and when we can see that, we can be a better mother.

You Have Nothing for Yourself

Remember when you used to have that hobby you used to love? The one that gave you something to look forward to? Whether it’s gardening, blogging, couponing, sports, crocheting, etc… you need to have a hobby.

As a mother one of the worst things we can do is to forget about ourselves and stop making time for the things we love. That’s when we start falling into the thought that we don’t matter. And, without having something of our own to do, we can’t change that mindset.

That’s why it’s utterly important we mothers have a hobby of some sort so we too can feel fulfilled.

As a mother, it’s important to take care of yourself and make sure you don’t lose yourself. What do you think? What are some ways you would encourage other new moms who are struggling?
