As a mother, I’m overworked and overstressed. I devote my life to my children and I make sure I’m their biggest fan. My kids, after all, are the greatest blessings of my life. So, when my husband ask me what I want for Mother’s Day, I’m sure he’s expecting to hear I don’t need anything because I already have it. Truth is, I don’t really want anything, not material things at least, but there are a few things I really do want and I’m sure other moms do too.
Brew the coffee for me. I’m keeping it simple, I don’t need breakfast in bed, but one thing I absolutely despise is making a pot of coffee in the morning. Wake up early and brew the pot for me, I’ll be forever grateful, I promise.
Pass me the television remote. I’m so sick of listening to My Little Pony reruns, pass me the remote, please. I can’t even remember the last time I sat down and watched a Hallmark movie or a Lifetime Movie.
Me time. It’s my day, I don’t need all day to do things I really don’t want to do. It’s my day, let me have a few minutes to myself and relax. You can take this time to call your mom, but for now, let me relax. I promise I’ll still spend most of the day with you guys.
Hugs and cuddles. I’ll take these any day. One of my favorite things is when my children cuddle up with me and give me a great big bear hug. I don’t need fancy restaurants or gifts, just give me good kids and nice hugs and I’ll be happy. After all, without my beauties, I wouldn’t be celebrating this special day.
Moms, what are some things you really want for Mother’s Day this year?
