About the Book:
First published by Cecil Frances Alexander in 1848, this favorite hymn has become a mainstay of churches and Sunday school classes everywhere. Here artist Katy Hudson brings new joy to the words with her fresh and bright watercolor style. Readers can join in the fun as they follow two little girls and their brother on a day filled with the discovery of “all things bright and beautiful.”
About the Illustrator:
Katy Hudson was raised from Middlesborough, England and started her career as a child drawing on freshly painted walls. Her parents quickly encouraged her to use paper and pencil instead. The idea stuck and after graduating with a degree in illustration, Katy is now a freelance illustrator.
All Things Bright and Beautiful was a hymn that I grew up singing in Sabbath school. Letting my children hear those same words in the form of a book, was amazing!
Illustrator, Katy Hudson does a beautiful job with the pictures in this book. The pictures literally had my kids mesmerized the first time they saw the book.
While I love this book, one downfall to All Things Bright and Beautiful is that it is hard to read. Every time I go to read it, the little girl in me starts singing.
All Things Bright and Beautiful is a great book for children and makes teaching hymns so much fun!
