It’s almost New Years! And, we all know what that means it’s almost time for to make up some unrealistic resolution.
I’ve made so many resolutions in the past and failed miserably; so, next year, I’m looking to do a resolution I can actually stick to. I’m going to eat healthier.
It’s been something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, but eating healthy has never been my expertise. That’s why, I was glad when I got the opportunity to review Nourishing Meals cookbook by Alissa Segersten and Tom Malterre.
Nourishing Meals has a year’s worth of healthy, whole food, allergy-free recipes.
Each recipe in this book promises to be gluten-free, soy-free and dairy-free.
At first glance, Nourishing Meals, looks like another ordinary cookbook. By, inside there is so much more than just recipes. This book starts out by introducing the reader to both authors, how they met and why they created this particular cookbook.
Next, it gives tips on how to make a sustainable dietary change. The tips are very knowledgeable and, honestly, they aren’t that hard to follow.
During the next few pages, this cookbook explains why you may want to try a Whole Foods diet or go gluten free. Some of the points made in these pages reasonated with myself in general, so it was a very interesting read.
After 59-pages of tips and information, the cookbook finally starts and the recipes look and sound amazing!
While not every recipe, has a picture, in fact most do not, Nourishing Meals does offer a few select pictures.
When cooking, I tend to want to see a picture of what I am making, but with Nourishing Meals, I wasn’t too disappointed that pictures weren’t included.
The recipes in Nourishing Meals were easy to follow along with and they were pretty simple for being so healthy.
Unlike a lot of other healthy recipes that I have read, these ones didn’t require a lot of fancy, expensive ingredients. In fact, most recipes required items that I already have on hand.
Nourishing Meals cookbook is a great cookbook and I can’t wait to try some of the meals inside.
If you are looking to eat healthier in the new year, but don’t know where to start, I highly suggest checking out this cookbook.
