If you’re searching for God and looking for more ways to become closer to Him, than My Daily Devotional, The Gift of Jesus, is for you.
The Gift of Jesus was written by Johnny Hunt, the former President of the Southern Baptist Convention along with, 51 Southern Baptist pastors and ministry leaders.
With a years worth of devotions, this book is written in an easy-to-understand format. While I will admit, I had favorite writers in this book, all of these devotions were very eye-opening and helpful in my own life. Each daily entry included Scripture passages, a devotion, and a prayer.
My favorite thing about The Gift of Jesus, though, had nothing to do with the actual book and more to do with the looks of it. This book is made with an imitation-leather backing, so it opens nicer than a paperback or hardcover book. And, to keep your place inside, it comes with a built-on ribbon.
One thing that I probably would change in The Gift of Jesus is the fact that this book starts it’s first devotion on a Monday. When I received this book, on a Wednesday, I had every intent on reading it, that day, but I hesitated to start because I wanted to follow the days of the week by how the book was set up. Even though, I did remember to start this devotional that following Monday, I do think labeling the days by weekdays, can kind of pull people away from reading it.
Overall, I am highly impressed with the quality of The Gift of Jesus and would encourage anyone to check it out.
The Gift of Jesus is the seventh book in the My Daily™series of devotionals with more than 500,000 units sold. You can check it out HERE.
